Raphaël ZarkaRiding Modern Art

  • Exhibition
02.09.2017-07.01.2018

The French artist transforms the Museum's great hall into a unique skatepark.
Skaters and visitors can free ride on modular sculptures inspired by the geometric volumes of German mathematician Arthur Schoenflies.
From the mezzanine, visitors will appreciate the sculptural strength of the modules assembled and evoking a large park of modern sculptures.

Raphaël Zarka also shows a series of black and white photographs drawn from skateboarding magazines and representing skaters performing tricks on the modern sculptures installed in the public space.
Just like art, skate is all a matter of style.

The multifaceted artist (sculpture, painting, drawing, video, photography) is also an author renowned for his historical researches around the skateboard, his preferred method of transportation.
