Saturday workshops
As part of its engagement programme, the BPS22 outs together plastic arts workshops for a range of different audiences. One of these workshops, organised one Saturday per month, is the brainchild of the Institut Médico Pédagogique (IMP) (medico-educational institute) René Thône de Marchienne-au-Pont, and is specifically aimed at children who live in the IMP and who do not have the opportunity to return to their families on weekends.
The Saturday Workshops support these children in their approach, understanding and comprehension of artistic practices.
Going beyond stimulating their creativity, this project aims to develop in these children a sense of observation, greater autonomy, a spirit of mutual assistance and a reflection on the world around them. These monthly meetings take place over a long period of time (from October 2018 to April 2019), in the spaces of the BPS22, and over this time, they make it possible to build a familiar relationship with both art and the museum institution.
