News

The BPS22 is closed for a few months starting June 13th. The aim is to carry out work to bring the building into line with energy efficiency standards. We will compensate for suspending the Museum’s activities by relocating them.

Next 22 May, with the end of the Teen Spirit, Adolescence and Contemporary Art exhibition, a great success following its inauguration in February, the BPS22 will close its doors for a while to start work on bringing the building into line with energy efficiency standards. Made possible by funding from the City of Charleroi European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), the work will upgrade the building’s insulation without changing its current appearance. The two main halls, the Great Hall and Pierre Dupont, will be affected by this work, which will considerably improve their performance in terms of sustainability.

The solo exhibitions dedicated to Pietro Fortuna and Adrien Lucca have been postponed for a year, with the opening scheduled for the end of May 2023; likewise, the Laurence Dervaux monographic exhibition, which will open in September 2023 and coincide with the end of urban renovation work in Ville-Haute.

Extra-mural exhibitions and activities will be offered throughout this time. The BPS22 team is hard at work on an alternative programme. More information will follow in coming months.
