Call for residence in Quebec
For the third consecutive year, the CALQ (Conseil des Arts et des Lettres du Québec) and the BPS22 are launching a new call for applications for an artist residency in 2019.
The objective of this call is to designate the Belgian Francophone artist who will be hosted in residence at the Centre d'art actuel Bang, in Saguenay (Quebec), for a two-month stay between August and November 2019.
For international residents, the Bang Centre has set up a welcome structure that allows artists to focus on their artistic work, while at the same time promoting professional networking and the development of synergy between artists in residencies, guest authors, and the creative community in Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean. Staying at the Bange centre also provides the opportunity of working on a project and presenting it to the public.

To be eligible, the candidate must:
o Be of Belgian nationality
o Be Francophone
o Submit an application, before midnight on 19 April 2019, to email hidden; JavaScript is required with the following subject: Application - BANG Residence 2019.
o Submit an application file including:
o A CV (background + artistic approach)
o A copy of your identity card
o A cover letter (max. 2 pages of A4)
o Reproductions and video links allowing the jury to assess the body of work accomplished by the artist in recent years in the fields of digital arts, visual arts and multidisciplinary arts.
The BPS22 will cover the accommodation costs (insurance costs, travel expenses, subsistence costs, project implementation costs) for the chosen French-speaking Belgian artist in the form of a grant of €5,000.
On the site, the Centre d'art Actuel BANG will provide the artist with a workspace, tools, adequate technical support and accommodation in the studio that occupies an entire floor of the Art Centre building.
