Although it is regularly declared "dead", contemporary painting never ceases to renew itself. New generations of artists are still privileging this medium and are inscribing it today in a most burning societal actuality.

The conference will offer a brief overview of these new pictorial practices, generated by artists with very varied personal backgrounds and concerns very different from those of their elders.
