In step! Walking as artistic practiceAperitif conferences
- Conference
Rambling, strolling and wandering, but also demonstrations, processions and parades… Solo or en masse. Through the countryside or urban exploration. Among the long line of philosophers and writers from Aristotle to Rousseau who sing the praises of walking, a handful of artists have made moving into an art-form or a tool for their work. While this trend originates in the restlessness of the 1960s, with performance, Land Art and conceptual art, we shall explore the place walking occupies in today’s art.
