Carte Blanche for Candice Breitz
Candice Breitz’s Off Voices exhibition commands the audience’s attention and directs it towards the voices of marginalised people. Her works evoke, in turn, the criminalisation of prostitution in South Africa, the latent racism of the art world, the interference of patriarchal power in our democracies, and even the privileges of whiteness from which the South African-born artist herself benefits.
With an introduction from Dorothée Duvivier, the exhibition’s curator, this discussion offers a rare chance to hear Candice Breitz talk (in English, with simultaneous interpretation into French via headset) about the different aspects of her work and her social and artistic activism.
The discussion will be followed by a complementary aperitif at the bar at 5 p.m.
Limited availability – book early!
- 20 tickets with headsets for those who require simultaneous interpretation into French. The headset must be reserved at the same time as your ticket.
- 20 places for those who understand English (Candice Breitz speaks in a very accessible English)
