In connection with the Watch this Space biennial organised by 50° nord, the cross-border network of contemporary art, the BPS22 supports two French artists settled in Brussels: Marc Buchy and Julie Deutsch. Dedicated to emerging creativity in the Hauts-de-France region and the Wallonia-Brussels Federation, Watch This Space #10 wants to be a witness to the dynamics of contemporary artistic creation in the northern Euroregion and a stakeholder in the professional integration of this new generation of artists.
The BPS22 has therefore produced a publication showcasing Julie Deutsch's work and Marc Buchy's exhibition, on show until 5 January 2020.
In partnership with La Plate-forme Laboratoire d'art contemporain, the BPS22 supported Julie Deutsch during her residency and her exhibition in Dunkirk. The exhibition À la lisière du présent (On the edge of the present) can be seen at La Plate-Forme from 24 September to 29 November 2019. The catalogue accompanying the exhibition is funded and presented by the BPS22. Published in 80 copies, it is available at the Museum's bookstore for 18 euros.
Marc Buchy's exhibition Tenir à l'œil (Keep a close eye) is composed of a series of "visual experiences" (or "looking experiences") exploring the mechanisation of the act of looking in a society where new technologies tend to change both how people look at things and their behaviour.
