Philosopher, critic, and curator, since 2015 Géraldine Gourbe has been working on a rewriting of the history of ideas and of art in France from 1947 to 1989. Drawing on American “cultural studies”, she attempts to piece together a new history of the counter-culture in France whose influence on creation in Belgium is yet to be documented.

Géraldine Gourbe is the assistant curator of GIGANTISM - ART & INDUSTRY, a new art and design triennial that has unfolded, since 4 May, around three iconic places at the Dunkirk modern art museum: the industrial wasteland of the Halle AP2, the Lieu d'Art et d'Action Contemporaine (Art and Contemporary Action Centre), and the Fonds régional d'art contemporain Grand Large - Hauts-de-France (Public collections of contemporary art).

This conference is under the framework of the Interreg BPS22+FRAC micro-project, with the support of the European Regional Development Fund.
