Abstract art, major trend of the 20th century? Conférence Exploration

    Category:
  • Conference
  • date:
  • 21.04.2018

With Alice Mathieu, Art historian

This conference will try to give another vision of abstract art and some keys to understand it, since the public is often wary and unappreciative of such work. Who are the first artists who practised this form of creation?  Why do they decide to foresake figuration? What is their intent?  What are the various trends of abstraction: lyrical, geometric, etc.? Is abstract art still fashionable with contemporary artists? How did they take it over?
